By using or accessing our website, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions of use as they apply to your use of or access to our website. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms and Conditions then you may not use our website. Our website is a place for you to select and order car hire in Spain. Details of the car hire and the supplier are shown on our website next to each product. Car hire is subject to the Terms and Conditions imposed by the supplier. In the event of any conflict between the Terms and Conditions of sale of the supplier and these Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions of the supplier shall prevail. By using this site you acknowledge the contract for sale and purchase of the car hire in question is exclusively a contract between yourself and the supplier of the car hire. Insurance conditions
Our prices include compulsory insurance for collision & theft with an excess. A deposit of 950€ would be needed as a guarantee against the excess. Prices as follows:

In the event of an accident or damages to the vehicle, you will be charged up to the excess amount.

What is covered by our SMART Insurance:
For a minimum cost our Smart Insurance allows you to travel with total peace of mind and with the certain guarantee of no extra costs in case of accident or damage to the car. When taking out the SMART insurance there is no excess or deposit to pay.

In Italy, if customers purchased our SMART cover, theft excess is eliminated except when traveling to Campania, where the excess is reduced to the amounts shown in the table below:
If you decide not to take the additional SMART insurance, then we will hold the amount of €950 Euros on your credit card as a guarantee to cover the excess and any possible damages made to the vehicle.
Centauro we will accept Visa and Mastercard Debit Cards, the customer can either opt to buy the Centauro cover or leave a deposit. If the customer does not wish to purchase the Smart Cover the deposit will be charged to the card and refunded at the end of the rental period.
PLEASE NOTE DEBIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES IN ATHENS AND THESSALONIKI OFFICES.
Debit cards must be nominative. (Due to fluctuations in the rate of exchange and other bank charges, Centauro will not be responsible for any difference between the rate charged and on any refunds made).
Please remember we do not accept: Prepaid Cards, Visa Electron, Maestro, American Express, Diners Club or cash.
For groups S2 -S2A - S3 - S3A, two credit cards will be required to present at the desk as a guarantee to collect the vehicle.
The COMPULSORY INSURANCE AND SMART INSURANCE will be valid as long as the following conditions are met:
What is not covered by any insurance
Accident Administration Fee of €50 Euros for any accident that involves an accident report form having to be completed and /or where insurance companies are involved in resolving payment of damages.
This accident administration fee will be waivered if the customer has purchased the Centauro SMART COVER.
This applies to all Centauro locations.
Cancelling or changing your booking
You can cancel or alter your booking as many times as is necessary, without incurring cancellation charges or any additional cost.
Guaranteed vehicle group
When you book with Centauro Rent a Car, we guarantee the vehicle group requested not the brand or model shown. If the vehicle group requested is not available, Centauro Rent a Car will provide you with a vehicle belonging to a higher category group for the same price.
“Out of hours” service
Only available at the following airports and with a valid flight number:
(23:01hrs - 06:59hrs): €40 charge for collection. No charge for drop off. 22:00 for Murcia Airport.
Delayed flights:
If you have a confirmed reservation before 23.00 and your flight is delayed then you must call the corresponding Centauro airport office so that we can ensure your pick up. This will have a cost of €40 Euros. This service is available until 01.00 in Alicante-Malaga-Seville-Valencia-Mallorca-Ibiza- Barcelona-Faro-Porto-Lisbon-Madeira-Rome Fiumicino-Rome Ciampino-Milan Malpensa-Bergamo-Catania-Palermo-Olbia-Cagliari-Pisa- Athens-Thessaloniki-Heraklion-Chania.
For delayed flights to Alicante, Murcia and Malaga this service is available throughout the night, there is no hour limitation but it is still imperative to inform the corresponding airport office.
At all Centauro locations if you are arriving on a flight, it is imperative that we have the correct flight number or we will not be held responsible for non-collection at the airport.
Free airport service
Our service when you come to pick up your vehicle at the Centauro counter in the airport terminal is offered free of charge (Alicante/Murcia), and we waive all airport fees.
EXPRESS CHECK IN
Avoid possible queues and use the Express Check-In desk at our offices. (Charge applicable)
Child seats
Child seats as well as boosters are manufactured according to European safety standards and are available on request for a daily charge of €15 Euros, up to a maximum of €120 Euros per item. Please make sure which kind of seat you require:
Baby seat (BS): 0 – 13 Kilos.
Child seat (BP): 9 – 25 Kilos.
Booster (BG): 16 – 36 Kilos.
For your child’s safety it is obligatory for children up to 12 years of age or with a height up to 135 cms to use an approved safety device corresponding to the height and weight of the child and that this must be placed on the back seat of the car.

In Italy, snow chains will be provided free of charge. Only some car group models will have winter tyres.
Additional drivers
Each additional driver will be €23 Euros (€23 Euros in Italy) for 1 day, €15 Euros (€16.50 Euros in Italy) per day for 2 day rentals, €11 Euros (€15 Euros in Italy) per day, maximum charge of €108 Euros (€132 Euros in Italy).
Roadside assistance
Our prices also include roadside assistance 24/7. Any towing costs incurred are not included, though we do provide, at no additional cost, a replacement car if necessary.

This is a fast and easy service where Centauro Rent a Car will hand over the vehicle with the tank full of fuel and the customer has no need to use all the fuel or top up the tank. Just use the fuel you need, there is no need to look for a close by petrol station. Just leave the car with the tank as empty as you wish and save time as we do not have to check the fuel level

All drivers must have been in possession of a full EU-valid driving license for a minimum of 1 year. The minimum age of the driver is 19.

Payment options:
* Once the reservation has been completed, if you wish to change your mind and pre-pay, there will be no discount applied to the price.
Payment is at the point of arrival, on collection of your vehicle, or through our secure web page, with Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards.
For payment by debit card you must either pay the deposit of €1,050 - €3000 Euros or take out the SMART insurance. The deposit will then be refunded to you at the end of your rental if there is no new damage made to the car.
We do accept cash for payment of the car hire along with a credit card (NOT DEBIT) as a guarantee.
There is no refund for unused days/early return of your vehicle.
The holder of the card must present it together with their voucher when they come to pick up the vehicle.
Restrictions
Via Verde transponder device -
When driving in Portugal, many roads have an electronic toll collection system. The non-payment of said tolls is classed as a traffic violation, provided for and sanctioned as an administrative offence, under the terms of Law No 25/2006 of 30 June. Under the terms of current legislation, all vehicles rented by Centauro are equipped with a device that has an automatic toll payment system and is commonly known as the Via Verde transponder device, which cannot be removed from the vehicle or in any way replaced by the Client. When renting a vehicle with Centauro, and in accordance with current legislation, the client automatically subscribes to the automatic payment system which allows for the identification of the vehicle and the automatic payment of any toll fees and administrative charges incurred by Centauro (€2.07 per day, up to a maximum of €20.81 per month and per rental contract).This way you can enjoy your trip in Portugal, hassle-free. A charge of €100 will be made from the debit or credit card as a deposit for the payment of toll fees and the respective administrative expenses incurred that, for any reason, cannot be charged to the credit or debit card given in accordance with the above. The deposit amount charged to your credit card will be refunded at the end of the rental and within a period of approximately 10 (ten) calendar days. In case of damage, loss or theft of the Via Verde device, or if it is removed from the rental vehicle or replaced in any way, a fee of €25 will be charged. If, for any reason, the car's passing through the electronic toll booths is not registered by the on-board equipment installed in the vehicle, Centauro will proceed to identify the driver of the vehicle after receiving the notification from the competent authorities, being the Client responsible for the payment of the respective tolls and/or any expense related to any collection procedure or administrative infraction related to the non-payment of toll fees.
Inter-branch hiring
You may return the vehicle to any of Centauro own offices, provided that you advise us of this on making your booking. If the system blocks a booking between different destinations, that means bookings are not permitted between the branches requested. Please click here to see the cost:

Cross Border From Mainland Spain/Portugal:
Car hires from Alicante, Valencia, Murcia & Mallorca Cross-border driving is not permitted during car rentals from these offices.
Car hires from Santiago, Bilbao & Girona
In the event that a client wishes to drive cross border to one of our approved countries, the following charges will apply:
1. For customers who choose to contract our SCDW cover or who book our All-Inclusive (no deposit) package. The daily charge to drive cross border is 2 day rentals €16 Euros per day, 3-12 day rentals is €11 euros per day with a minimum charge of €29 euros and a maximum charge of €108 euros.
2. For customers who book our basic package and choose not to contract our full coverage. The daily charge to drive cross border is €20 euros per day with a minimum charge of €40 euros and a maximum charge of €300 euros.
Customers of Santiago may only drive to Portugal and customers of Bilbao and Girona may only drive to France and Andorra under these conditions.
From Italy:
Vehicles can be taken outside of Italy to France/Monaco/Switzerland/Austria/San Marino only. Additional CROSS BORDER ROAD ASSISTANCE COVER: 9€ per day, minimum 27€, maximum 90€. This is an obligatory extra for customers who want to travel outside of the pick up country. This extra does not exempt the customer for damage caused to the vehicle, whether abroad or in the pick up country. If a customer travels to another country and has not paid for this additional extra, they will be in breach of contract and will not be covered for any charges that may arise, even if it is a mechanical fault. In addition, when driving to a different country, our SMART Cover is only valid when purchasing the obligatory Cross Border Road Assistance Cover. Vehicles collected at any of our locations cannot be taken on any ferry to/between/from any islands or countries.
Documentation required on collection of the vehicle
Please remember that on picking up the vehicle you must have with you: your passport or identity card, your driving license, credit card and Centauro booking number.
Groups may contain similar models to those specified. No model can be guaranteed in any group.
